About TheCatGuy
Howdy from me, Dennis Clark, aka TheCatGuy.
I thought would be fun to blog about cats, since I have had pet cats since I was a little boy. My first kitty was Taffy.
Here I am with one of my two current feline buddies, Ziggy. He had to pose with me for about 30 seconds longer than he wanted to, so he was thrilled when this photo session was over.
Ziggy likes to jump into bed next to me at night and rub his head on whatever book I am reading. He loves to “read” science fiction the most. He is the most skittish cat I have ever known, afraid of his own shadow. He probably picked that up from early emotional trauma at the animal shelter where we found him as a kitten.
The photo below shows Ziggy and my other buddy, Amos. They are not side by side because they are rivals who probably would tell me how much better life would be without the other one around. If they could talk, that is.
Amos is doing what he does best during the daytime, that is, sleep. Most cats do this a lot. Our two are pretty active at night, so my goodness they do have to get their (manly) beauty sleep during the day.
Some Other Stuff About Me
In my “other” life, outside of being TheCatGuy, I am a retired university professor and research scientist. I spent more than 35 years studying plant biochemistry, especially as it applies to herbal medicine and human health. The formal stuff about my professional life is posted on my About page at a different blog, HerbScientist.com. It is titled, “Who Is The HerbScientist?”
That’s it for now. I hope you enjoy what I have to say about cats. They are a blast, aren’t they?
